ITINERARY FOR HUNGARICUM FOOD AND WINE TOURS 2015
 
Sunday May 10th , 2015: (According to your chosen flight schedule you should arrive to Vienna International Airport)
 
3:00PM: Group will meet at LE MERIDIEN Art Hotel VIENNA, Opernring 13, Vienna, Austria, for check in. Hotel is located approximately 20 minutes from the airport in taxi, cost of taxi should be between 25-30 euro. Should you arrive earlier just identify yourself by name and part of Hungaricum Food and Wine Experience group at check in counter. It is important you put provided labels in your luggage tosimplify check in. Average temperatures for Vienna in May fluctuate between 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit.
 
5:00PM: Cocktail and group meeting at LE MERIDIEN VIENNA Le Moet Champagne Bar. Night is free for everyone to explore the city or recover from jet lag.
 
Monday May 11th , 2015:
 
7:00AM-8:00AM: Breakfast at the LE MERIDIEN VIENNA.
8:30AM: Group meets for departure to VIENNA city tour.
9:00AM-1:00PM: VIENNA city tour.
1:00PM-3:00PM: Time off for lunch, free time.
3:00PM: Meeting at LE MERIDIEN VIENNA lobby for visit to Weingut Kohl winery. Wearing a jacket is recommended since temperatures may be lower in the wine cellar.
8:00PM: Meeting at the LE MERIDIEN VIENNA lobby for trip to Steirereck Restaurant (2 Michelin Stars), 7 course food and wine pairing dinner. Semi formal clothing, suit jacket for men recommended.
 
Tuesday May 12th, 2015:
 
7:00AM-8:00AM: Breakfast at the LE MERIDIEN VIENNA.
8:00AM-9:00AM: Checkout.
9:00AM: Departure to BUDAPEST.
12:00PM: Arrival to BUDAPEST, luggage will be dropped at Le Meridien Hotel, time off for lunch and to explore the city. Hungary average temperatures in May fluctuate between 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit, could be lower at night.
3:00PM: Check in and meeting at the LE MERIDIEN BUDAPEST.
7:00PM: Meeting at LE MERIDIEN hotel lobby to leave for Danube River Dinner Cruise, casual elegant clothing recommended, we will walk from the hotel to the river through Vorosmarthy Square, about an 8-10 minute walk, in car could take more than 20 minutes, therefore scenic walk was chosen
 
Wednesday May 13 th , 2015:
 
7:00AM-8:00AM: Breakfast at the LE MERIDIEN BUDAPEST.
9:00AM-1:00PM: BUDAPEST city tour, we will visit the most important historical sites of Budapest with a private guide.
1:30PM- Arrival from city tour, group has afternoon free for lunch and city exploring.
7:00PM- Meeting at the lobby of LE MERIDIEN BUDAPEST for trip to Onyx Restaurant (One Michelin Star) 8 course food and wine pairing dinner. From the hotel we will make a 3 minute walk to the restaurant from Deak Square to Vorosmarthy Square. Semi formal clothing, suit jacket for men recommended.
 
Thursday May 14 th , 2015:
 
7:00AM-8:00AM: Breakfast at the LE MERIDIEN BUDAPEST.
8:00AM-9:00AM- Checkout.
9:00AM- Departure to the famous Tokaj wine region. 12:00PM- Arrival at GROF DEGENFELD Hotel in Tokaj, meeting and cocktail with Ferenc Zelenak, Ambassador of the Tokaj wine region for the Caribbean and South America. Free time for lunch at the hotel restaurant.
3:00PM- Tour of the GROF DEGENFELD winery and wine cellar.
7:00PM- Meeting at GROF DEGENFELD lobby for food and wine pairing dinner with GROF DEGENFELD wines.
 
Friday May 15th , 2015:
 
7:00AM-10:00AM: Breakfast at the GROF DEGENFELD Hotel.
11:00AM- Bus tour of Tokaj with Ferenc Zelenak. Mr. Zelenak will take the group for a quick comprehensive tour of the Historical Tokaj Region. Comfortable shoes recommended for possible stops in Vineyard area.
1:00PM-2:30PM- Free time for lunch.
3:00PM-5:00PM– Tasting with Pannon Tokaj wines at GROF DEGENFELD.
7:00PM- Meeting at GROF DEGENFELD lobby for trip to food and wine pairing dinner at Gusteau Restaurant.
7:30PM– 6 course food and wine pairing dinner at Gusteau Restaurant, pairings with Erszebet Winery led by Master of Wine/
Master Sommelier Ronn Wiegand and/or Hajni Pracser from Erszebet.
 
Saturday May 16th , 2015:
 
7:00AM-9:00AM: Breakfast at the GROF DEGENFELD Hotel.
8:00AM-9:30AM- Checkout.
10:00AM- Departure to Eger wine region.
11:30AM- Arrival to Eger wine region, SALIRIS Hotel and Spa, lunch at hotel.
2:00PM- Departure for visit to St. Andrea Winery, tasting with winemaker Gyorgy Lorincz. 7:00PM- Meeting at SALIRIS lobby to leave for food and wine pairing dinner with St. Andrea wines at Macok Restaurant led by winemaker Gyorgy Lorincz, 2009 winemaker of the year.
 
Sunday May 17th , 2015:
 
7:00AM-9:00AM: Breakfast at the SALIRIS Hotel.
10:00AM: Departure for visit to Ferenc Toth Winery tasting.
12:00: Return to SALIRIS Hotel for group lunch.
1:00PM-4:00PM: Group has free time to use the great spa and medicinal salt baths of the Saliris Hotel. Bathing suit recommended for use of Hotel Spa and baths.
6:00PM: Meeting at SALIRIS lobby to leave for tasting visit and food and wine pairing dinner with Gal Tibor wines hosted by Gal Tibor at his Fuzio Restaurant and tasting room.
 
Monday May 18th , 2015:
 
7:00AM-8:00AM: Breakfast at the SALIRIS Hotel.
8:00AM-9:00AM: Checkout.
9:00AM: Departure to the Villany wine region.
12:00PM-2:00PM: Arrival to Villany, check in at Crocus Gere Hotel. Free time for lunch at hotel.
3:30PM- Meeting at hotel lobby for tour and tasting of Bock Winery.
7:00PM- Meeting for food and wine pairing dinner at Ermitage Restaurant, pairings with Bock Winery.
 
Tuesday May 19th , 2015:
 
7:00AM-10:00AM: Breakfast at the Crocus Gere Hotel.
10:00AM-2:00PM: Free time for use of Hotel Spa and lunch. Bathing suit recommended for use of Hotel Spa.
2:30PM- Meeting at hotel lobby for visit to Gere Attila Winery and wine tasting. 7:00PM- Meeting at hotel lobby for 6 course food and wine pairing dinner at Mandula Restaurant with wines of Gere Attila and Gere Tamas & Zsolt.
 
Wednesday May 20th , 2015:
 
7:00AM-8:00AM: Breakfast at the Crocus Gere Hotel.
8:00AM-9:00AM: Checkout.
9:00AM- Departure to BUDAPEST.
12:00PM-1:00PM: Arrival to BUDAPEST and check in at LE MERIDIEN Hotel.
1:00PM-6:00PM: Free afternoon for lunch and leisure in BUDAPEST.
7:00PM- Meeting at hotel lobby for departure to farewell dinner at Fisherman’s Bastion Halaszbastya Restaurant at the Castle District of BUDAPEST. Semi formal clothing, suit jacket for men recommended.
 
Thursday May 21st , 2015:
 
7:00AM-10:00AM- Breakfast at LE MERIDIEN Hotel, checkout and end of amazing voyage! Transportation to Ferihegy Airport will be offered at 10:00AM, all travelers are responsible for coordinating their flight schedules.
